Welcome to the Tri-Cities

Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley are the three distinct communities that make up the Tri-Cities, a region that already has a well-established reputation for being an exceptional place to live. Located in North Central Arizona and a refreshing contrast to the heat and bustle of the Greater Phoenix area to the south, this is a place of serene, historic small towns, cool pine forests, and a beautiful, rugged landscape punctuated with mountain ranges, sheer escarpments and dramatic canyons.

The heart of the Tri-Cities, which is also known as the Prescott Metro Area, Prescott serves as the county seat of Yavapai County. The city is home to an estimated population of over 40,000 and is famous for its historic architecture and welcoming hometown feel.

Prescott Valley

Often referred to simply as “PV,” Prescott Valley is very near the Prescott National Forest and is edged by the Bradshaw and Mingus mountains. This fast-growing town is adjacent to Prescott and Dewey-Humboldt and now has around 40,000 residents.

Chino Valley

Located farther north from the other two larger communities in the region, the town of Chino Valley has a more off-the-beaten-path feel and has a population of approximately 11,000. It has managed to hold on to its rural, small-town roots and there are still plenty of open spaces throughout.

Other Communities

While not technically within the Tri-Cities, the towns of Dewey-Humboldt and Williamson Valley (a CDP) are also often included in references to the general area. Both are residential communities and should definitely be on the must-visit list of buyers on the lookout for homes with large lots. There are still lots and land for sale available here as well.
